Sarasota will host two politically charged events on Saturday morning as a memorial for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk and a “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump take place within a mile of each other.

The Kirk memorial is expected to draw prominent Republicans , including U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, Florida GOP Chair Evan Power, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, and incoming Florida Senate President Jim Boyd. Organizers plan a downtown ceremony to honor Kirk’s life, activism , and influence among conservative circles across Florida.
