One key symptom could mean you have Covid and not flu as cases of both continue to rise across the UK.

Over the last few weeks, data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has shown that flu positivity has increased from 1.9 per cent to 3.3 per cent, while Covid positivity in hospital settings has risen from 11.7 per cent in the previous week to 12.9 per cent.

Regarding the number of cases which have been recorded, the UKHSA has found in the week leading up to October 8, there was a growth of 61 cases (1.9 per cent) bringing the total reported to 3.206 for that week.

Deaths have also shown an increase of 14.9 per cent (13) up to 100 for the seven days leading up to October 3.
