Shane Carden’s message to the Wood River High School football team as its homecoming game against the Gooding Senators today, Friday, Oct. 17, approached was to soak in the pageantry the week provides.
“Homecoming is always exciting,” said Carden, Wood River’s head football coach. “[There are] a lot of fun things going on in town. [I] always tell the kids to soak it all up and enjoy the time, parade and festivities that come along with homecoming.”
Friday’s Idaho Class 4A Great Basin Conference contest is set for 6 p.m. at Hailey’s Phil Homer Field. Wood River’s record sits at 1-5, but the team has opportunities for victories on Friday and on Oct. 24 during the team’s senior night against Jerome.
“You want to see these guys play the way you know they can play,” Carden said. “There have
