COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police in Colorado Springs have arrested a suspect after a K9 was stabbed and critically injured in the line of duty Wednesday.
The Colorado Springs Police Department said at around 10:43 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence protection order violation at a home on Gorgeted Quail Grove.
When officers arrived, they encountered a person who had barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out despite their attempts to get him to surrender peacefully, according to police. The Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) and a K9 named Roam were deployed to help resolve the situation.
