A marketing executive hired by Vancouver’s Electrameccanica to help sell its vaunted three-wheeled Solo EV has been awarded $635,000 in severance after suing the company and its new U.S. owner.
Kim Brink, the former chief revenue officer of Xos Services Canada, formerly Electrameccanica Vehicles, filed a lawsuit against those companies as well as U.S. parent Xos Inc. after they reneged on an offered severance and benefits payment of US$452,435, or C$635,854, according to a B.C. Supreme Court judgment.
Brink was hired in January 2022 after holding senior marketing roles at NASCAR and General Motors and executive positions at a marketing company for Ford dealerships, according to Electrameccanica’s website.
In 2019, the company launched the Solo, a $15,500 one-seater electric car that was
