Crews will begin demolishing one of the Interstate 95 bridges over Broadway in Bangor next week.

That will require Broadway to be closed there from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.

During that time, crews will be demolishing the bridge that carries southbound interstate traffic over Broadway, the department said Friday morning.

There will be no vehicle traffic allowed to pass through the construction zone, though flaggers will be on-site to help pedestrians get through safely. Drivers will need to follow posted detour signs.
