Voter turnout in the Fairbanks North Star Borough municipal elections was about average, according to a draft copy of the certification results.

According to the draft memo prepared by Borough Clerk April Trickey, 16,031 votes are set to be certified. Those include 11,813 cast on Election Day, 860 absentee ballots, 2,846 from the early voting station, 419 questioned ballots, and 93 challenged ballots.

All the 2025 election results are considered unofficial until certified by the Borough Assembly. Unofficial results released on Oct. 7 show that only 20.5% of the borough’s 77,684 eligible registered voters participated this year.

It’s about average over the last several years, except for last year.
