Far and away the best horror film of 2025, in my humble opinion , is Zach Cregger’s Weapons . The truly scary, truly funny mystery film made a big splash in its theatrical run this summer. But if you didn’t get a chance to see the movie in a cinema, but also don’t want to pony up to rent the movie on digital, you’re still in luck. The movie will make its streaming debut on HBO Max on Friday, October 24. That’ll give you a whole week to watch before Halloween. If for some reason you’d rather watch on cable, it’ll also be on HBO proper beginning October 25 at 8pm EDT.
