GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 30-year-old Scottville man was arrested early Thursday morning after leading Mason County deputies on a high-speed chase that reached up to 100 mph before crashing and fleeing on foot, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Per an Oct. 17 news release, deputies said the pursuit began around 2:35 a.m. when a patrol unit attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on U.S. 31 near Forest Trail in Grant Township.
The driver refused to stop and sped west on Forest Trail, where the deputy lost sight of the vehicle west of Quarterline Road.
A second deputy later located the suspect on Morton Road near Forest Trail and attempted another traffic stop.
