LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Police Department released the results for two traffic enforcement projects that were conducted in September.

The southeast construction zone enforcement project took place in August and September. It was in response to numerous concerns from people in the area.

During the project, officers conducted 392 traffic stops. They handed out 425 citations and 60 warnings.

LPD also conducted a downtown safety enforcement project throughout September that focused on vehicle and pedestrian traffic downtown and in surrounding neighborhoods.

During the project, officers conducted 252 traffic stops. They gave out 293 citations and 121 warnings.

LPD said the results from both projects do not include any citations written by officers during their normal hours.
