HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Four Hastings teens, ages 14 and 15, have been cited by Hastings Police for distribution of child abuse material and tampering with evidence.

Hastings Police said the citations stem from an incident reported in August.

HPD Capt. Jason Haase said two juveniles were in a relationship, where they had shared some video of an intimate act between the two. He said the two broke up and it ended badly with that video later being shared as retaliation.

Police are not sure how widespread the video went, but do have evidence that three females and one male shared the video with malice and tried to conceal it.

Capt. Haase said they want to let people know that the idea that you can share those intimate images or videos may seem safe at the time, but anytime there’s a fight
