FORWARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision on Route 68 in Butler County Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, Kathryn McGown, 69, was heading west on Evans City Road when her vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and hit another vehicle. Advertisement

The driver of the second vehicle has been identified as 80-year-old Marcia Carnahan of Slippery Rock.

Both McGown and Carnahan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was shut down between the intersections of Old Route 68, Buhl Road, and Brownsdale Road in Forward Township and Connoquenessing Borough.
