Yes, it’s that time of year again. Time for our annual cemetery strolls.

I thought that this week I would give you a small taste of some of Jim’s best prose, so I am reproducing part of a column he wrote a few years ago, with updates to give you the details of this year’s offerings. Something old, something new.

The wind wistfully whistles around half-deserted buildings. There’s a bit of an eerie feeling in the air. Silent shadowy shapes appear and disappear along ancient creeks and among silent grave markers. Historic cemeteries seem to not frighten us away but instead beckon us to come and visit, and hear some great stories at the same time.
