KINGSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Police arrested a Kingston man on Thursday in connection to an altercation on Cedar Street. Quameik Byrd, 30, faces numerous charges.
On October 16 around 10:15 a.m., Kingston Police responded to the area after receiving reports that Byrd was allegedly seen beating a young puppy and lifting the dog in the air by its leash. Investigators determined that when bystanders tried to intervene, Byrd reportedly brandished a knife and threatened to stab the onlookers and their families.
Police stated that one of the threatened bystanders was a minor. Officers took Byrd into custody at the scene. He now faces the following charges: • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon with a previous criminal conviction • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon • Fo
