MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Baraboo Sauk County campus will close in May 2026.

UW-Platteville officials stated the spring 2026 semester will go on as planned, and campus will cease operations on May 22, 2026.

UW-Platteville will help the students at the Sauk County campus transition to the main Platteville campus. There will also be plans set in place for employees.

UW-Platteville Chancellor Tammy Evetovich said the decision was not made lightly.

“Enrollment continues to decline on that campus, and we are committed to being good partners with the city and county by ensuring the campus can be used in ways that best serve the region,” Evetovich said. “We remain dedicated to supporting our students, faculty and staff through this transition.”
