A second-quarter payment of more than $4.7 million has been made by Ontario Lottery and Gaming to the City of Niagara Falls for hosting Casino Niagara and Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort.
So far during OLG’s fiscal year, the city has received more than $10.7 million.
Since the first casino opened in December 1996, Niagara Falls has received more than $243 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
The payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
