Tennessee Volunteers legend and New England Patriots backup quarterback Josh Dobbs acknowledged the changed perception in his alma mater's rivalry with the Alabama Crimson Tide ahead of the annual 'Third Saturday In October' game at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday (October 18) during an exclusive interview with iHeartMedia presented in partnership with Dr. Pepper's 'The Pepper Portal.'
Dobbs noted that the Vols have "gained some success within the rivalry," winning two of the last three matchups, including each of their last two home games against the Tide, having previously lost 15 consecutive from 2007 to 2021, which included all but one during legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban 's 16-year tenure.
