VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Retiring President Harvey Stenger gave one last update during his final meeting with the Binghamton University Council on Friday.

Stenger gave his standard update on programs, accomplishments, development projects, and special events during the monthly meeting.

BU Council is comprised of local community leaders and a student representative and helps to recommend candidates for the presidency, authorizes the naming of buildings and grounds, and provides guidance on university budgets and plans.

Council members lavished praise on Stenger for the tremendous growth over his 14 years in terms of enrollment, faculty, staff, schools and programs. They also honored his commitment to the community, his mentorship and guidance, and his sense of humor.
