SYLVANIA, Ohio — Some fall festivities in Sylvania scheduled for this weekend have been canceled, according to organizers and city officials.

The Sylvania Fall Festival & Parade, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 19, at Centennial Terrace, has been canceled. The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce cited impending weather that could cause hazardous conditions during the event.

Organizers believe the weather will raise significant safety concerns for parade participants, spectators and staff, particularly with respect to vehicle control, visibility, electrical equipment, and the stability of tents, floats and other temporary structures.
