LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A crash involving seven vehicles shut down a stretch of southbound I-75 near Exit 113 (North Broadway) in Lexington Friday afternoon.
Police say the crash happened when a loaded dump truck couldn’t stop in slowed traffic, sparking a chain reaction.
Five people were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The southbound lanes were closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
Officials said heavy towing equipment was needed to remove the dump truck, delaying the reopening.
Traffic was being diverted at Exit 115 (Newtown Pike).
