LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Some students across the region will soon get access to helpful tools when it comes to funding their education beyond high school.
But there are some concerns about how the government shutdown will impact those plans.
Evolve502, Louisville’s access to higher education, will host workshops to help students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.
Applications must be reviewed and processed by the US Department of Education, which has been affected by the government shutdown.
Still, according to the department’s contingency plan, the remaining Department of Education employees will ensure federally mandated programs like FAFSA can continue to operate.
