LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Hunter Nelson won his fourth consecutive state championship, while Lincoln East claimed the Class A team title in boys tennis on Friday at Woods Park in Lincoln. Nelson rolled to the #1 singles championship with a straight-set victory over Owen Brown of Lincoln Southeast (6-0, 6-1).
The Spartans senior closed the championship match with an ace, putting an exclamation mark on his historic career. Nelson went undefeated over his four high school seasons with a 139-0 record. He joins an elite group of 4-time state champions, which hadn’t been accomplished in Class A since the 1980s.
Lincoln East dominated the 2025 state tournament with both doubles teams capturing titles. Simon Johnson and Samarth Sajeesh won the #1 doubles bracket, while Brad Bobaru teamed up with Ka
