PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Portland Police spoke with reporters on Friday about how they are preparing for the planned ‘No Kings’ protests in downtown Portland on Saturday.
PPB said they are coordinating with state and local law enforcement partners, including the Oregon State Police, to ensure they have enough officers to police the rallies, as well as respond to 911 calls across the city. They will also have Portland Fire & Rescue and EMS crews standing by with police, and are communicating with ODOT and PBOT for road and bridge closures throughout the day.
Police said that protests through the summer have been primarily peaceful, and they do not expect to see anything different on Saturday.
