A fire that broke out Friday in a Lakeland Village home destroyed the dwelling, displacing the two occupants, neither of whom was injured.
The blaze was reported just before 1 p.m. Friday in the 33500 block of Skylark Drive, near Quail Trail, on the west end of the unincorporated community adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency stated that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in half of the single-story house, from which the two occupants, identified only as a man and woman, safely escaped.
Firefighters quickly established hose lays, preventing the flames from spreading into surrounding vegetation.
