LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — In a release, UNLV officials said they would be rededicating the basketball court at the Thomas and Mack Center for famed coach Jerry Tarkanian and his wife, Lois.

The court was previously named for Jerry Tarkanian in 2005.

Lois Tarkanian, who died in 2024, was a Las Vegas philanthropist and politician who served on the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents. Formerly an educator, teacher, speech pathologist, and administrator, she also served 12 years on the Clark County School District Board of Education.

Jerry Tarkanian led the Rebels to four Final Four appearances, bringing home the championship in 1990.
