HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) - The Reno County District Attorney’s Office said a man charged in connection with the deaths of a woman and a four-year-old girl inside a Hutchinson and in connection with a fire to the home, will be sentenced in December after pleading guilty to the violent crimes.

Specifically, the district attorney’s office said that 37-year-old Wendell Payton, pleaded guilty to intentional, premeditated first-degree murder in the death of the four-year-old child found dead inside the home, aggravated arson, aggravated endangering of a child (in reference to a second child at the scene outside the home), two counts of interference with law enforcement officers, and domestic battery against Kalsey Payton, the woman who was found dead inside the home.
