BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WESH) – A Florida man is accused of stealing a car from a gas station but then immediately returning it when he realized a 1-year-old child was in the back seat.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, surveillance video shows 53-year-old William Mullis driving away in the vehicle while the mother was inside the convenience store.

Within seconds, before even leaving the parking lot, Mullis is seen putting the car in reverse and coming right back.

The whole ordeal happened in a matter of seconds.

The child’s mother is seen running out of the convenience store and heading toward the driver’s side of the car.
