PLYMOUTH, MI – A 23-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stabbing his mother and two siblings earlier this week at a home in Metro Detroit .

Derek Alesmaily was arraigned Thursday, Oct. 16, on nine charges, including three counts of assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon, in Wayne County District Court in Plymouth.

He was originally accused of stabbing family members late Tuesday afternoon at a residence in the 3700 block of Parklawn Drive in Canton Township, according to township police.

Local police shared an update on Alesmaily’s arraignment Thursday , adding the three victims remained in serious but stable condition. The family members have not been identified.
