Those affected by the remnants of Typhoon Halong face a long journey ahead. The Alaska National Guard, Red Cross, and other agencies are working around the clock. Many evacuees came from villages like Kipnuk and Kwillingok, stopping in Bethel before reaching Anchorage. A flight came in on Wednesday night with about 260 evacuees, with another flight Thursday morning carrying 210, and more flights planned in the days ahead.
