REDDING, Calif. - The Shasta County District Attorney's Office says that 67-year-old Geoffrey Scott Kelly was held to answer Thursday on all charges in connection to the stabbing of a man in Downtown Redding

Kelly has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, and assault with a deadly weapon.

The charges stem from the stabbing of 38-year-old Daniel Wallace, which occurred on September 21.

Officers from the Redding Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Market Street in Redding after receiving reports of a stabbing incident taking place.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Wallace, who was suffering from stab wounds. Authorities say that Wallace told officers that he had been stabbed by Kelly after asking Kelly for a cigarette.
