CHICO, Calif. - A Pleasant Valley High student was arrested after allegedly attacking another student with a shovel on campus. The incident left the victim's family questioning the school's response to the violent encounter.
Ayden Pickett, a 9th grader at Pleasant Valley High School, said the attack happened on Wednesday morning.
He recounted to Action News Now that another student swung a shovel at him, but he managed to block the blow with his backpack. He said he then went to the office to report the incident, only to face another confrontation with his attacker.
"Instead of her just minding her business and just walking by, she comes to me and tries to throw a metal chair at me and my friend but we managed to run out," Ayden said.
