SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Department of Homeland Security reports about 4,900 ICE detentions this year in the two main regions that cover the local viewing area.

A separate report from the Deportation Data Project looks at removals by state. The report covers ICE removals from January, 2024 through July of this year and shows about 3,000 people removed from Missouri and Arkansas.

The Southern Missouri Immigration Alliance says one person taken from Flaming Margaritas restaurant in Branson late this summer had the required legal paperwork but still spent about three weeks in jail before voluntary deportation.
