SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This week, Sioux Falls city officials provided an update to a reconstruction project along Minnesota Avenue as it now turns to the second of four phases.
Minnesota Avenue is one of the busiest corridors in South Dakota’s largest city.
Improving traffic flow and safety for all modes of transportation is the main focus of the project, which saw a successful first phase.
Medians limit conflict points, and expanding the sides of the road will provide pedestrians with more space.
“There’s a lot of the same amenities, a lot of the same design work that occurred in the first phase,” said city engineer Andy Berg.
Phase two, once it’s bid out, is set to begin early 2026 and wrap up by the end of 2026. It includes replacing another water main, more medians,
