WHITE CASTLE, La. (WAFB) - One person was injured in a shooting on Friday, Oct. 17, near White Castle High School, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the shooting happened on Bowie Street, close to both White Castle High School and the White Castle Community Center.

Investigators confirmed the incident did not happen on school property and occurred after the high school football game between White Castle High and North Iberville High.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Initial reports indicated there were two victims; however, there was only one person injured.
