BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The stands were packed Friday night at Total Mortgage Arena as fans came out in full force to cheer on the Bridgeport Islanders .

For college students, it wasn’t just about hockey. It was College Night, and that meant discounted tickets, free merch and a much-needed break from midterms and deadlines.

“The stress of every day... I don’t know how many days I have left as a senior,” said Connor Collen, a student at Bridgeport University. “I have to be a real adult soon, but tonight I just got to mess around with my friends, caught a shirt — just some joy in my life.”
