Fire & smoke in Garib Rath train
A fire broke out on the Garib Rath train traveling from Ludhiana to Delhi near Sirhind station in Punjab on Saturday morning. According to preliminary information, the fire started in bogie number 19 due to a short circuit. Several businessmen from Ludhiana were travelling in this bogie. Some passengers sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The loco pilot immediately applied the emergency brake, bringing the train to a halt. As soon as the train stopped, passengers in the bogie quickly got off with their belongings. Amid the chaos, some passengers were injured while disembarking.
