ARAB, Ala. (WHNT) — For the first time in school history, the Scottsboro Wildcats are back-to-back region champions.

The Wildcats took down Arab 28-7 Friday night to secure the 2025 Class 5 Region 8 region championship.

Scottsboro started fast when Quincie Franklin returned the opening kick for a touchdown.

The region championship win caps off what was a wild two weeks for the Wildcats. Two weeks ago, the team was upset by the one-win Brewer Patriots before handing Guntersville its first loss of the year a week ago.

Coach Tyler Vann says his team has been through a lot en route to the region championship.

"We've won the area championships back-to-back in the 90s, but this is the first time since region play that Scottsboro's won back to back," Vann said. "Credit to this group of young
