The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over South Peninsular India on Friday, October 17.

The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms with lightning over Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra till October 20. Additionally, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep region around October 19, potentially intensifying rainfall.
