MADISON HEIGHTS – Kyle Gary couldn’t believe what he was seeing after his Madison Heights Madison football team defeated Madison Heights Bishop Foley for his first victory as the Eagles’ head coach last season.
“They were crying and trying to bring me water,” Gary said Friday after Madison held off a St. Clair Shores South Lake comeback to win the Macomb Area Conference crossover game 52-28. “I didn’t understand what was going on. They said, ‘congratulations, you ended our four-year drought.’ At the time I didn’t all the way know what I walked into.”
A lot has changed since Gary and his staff arrived at Madison.
