The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) launched a major construction phase to restore Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood, marking a key milestone in the Metro D Line Subway Extension Project. The effort involves removing over 700 concrete deck panels that have served as a temporary road surface at the future Westwood/UCLA subway station site.

The operation, set to run for 10 to 12 consecutive weekends through December, will use heavy equipment to clear the panels. Work will occur only on weekends to minimize weekday traffic disruptions, with eastbound Wilshire Boulevard remaining fully open.
