Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne is a big fan of Scotland , with one spot in particular capturing his heart. He once reportedly swapped the hustle and bustle of city life for the tranquillity of a small Highlands village.

The 47 year old actor, best known for his role as Gavin in the popular sitcom, is once believed to have relocated to Helmsdale, a picturesque village on the eastern coastline of Sutherland around four and a half hours from Edinburgh.

Originally from Nottingham, Mathew, who has also starred in the Catherine Tate Show and Dad's Army, was thought to split his time between his work commitments in London and a quieter lifestyle in the remote Scottish village .
