This matchup, just like last year, will have heavy College Football Playoff implications between the Crimson Tide (5-1, 3-0 in SEC play) and the Vols (5-1, 2-1). While Alabama could withstand a loss in conference, a second loss for the Vols could take them out of the running for the SEC championship game and a shot at an auto berth.

Tennessee pulled off a 24-17 victory over Alabama last season in Knoxville, Tennessee. However, the Vols have not beaten the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa since Oct. 25, 2003, in a game that went five overtimes. They have not won consecutive games vs. Alabama since 2003-04.
