ALBANY – Governor Kathy Hochul has now vetoed nine bills by Senator James Skoufis after deep-sixing two more of his proposals on Friday.

It doesn’t seem like a coincidence: Skoufis (D, Orange County) is a frequent critic of Hochul and has criticized delayed state budgets for the past two years. On Friday, Hochul vetoed two of his bills, including his proposed contraception access bill, which would have required certain health insurance policies to include coverage for services provided by pharmacists related to contraceptives

“It tells you everything you need to know about Kathy Hochul that she would sacrifice reproductive health access at the altar of a grudge,” Skoufis said.
