Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen is ahead in a wide-open race for lieutenant governor, while a former University of Alabama quarterback who is reportedly considering a run for the office is in second, according to a new poll.
Allen leads with 26%, ahead of national college football champion and Mobile native AJ McCarron at 14% and former Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill at 10%, the Quantus Insights survey released Thursday showed.
