DETROIT, MI -- Police safely recovered kidnapping victims on Friday, Oct. 17 after suspects were arrested near Belle Isle.

Detroit Police Officers responded to a kidnapping in the 14500 block of Trinity Street around noon.

The victims, a mother and daughter in their 20s and 40s, were taken at gunpoint, per a Detroit Police Department spokesperson.

Both victims “managed to get away,” police said, and were later recovered safely near the site of the initial incident.

Around 2:30 p.m., Detroit Police reported a possible body dumping near Lakeside Street on the east end of Belle Isle, per a Michigan State Police post on X .
