Prime Minister Mark Carney got his elbows up for a big swing of the beer mallet at the Schwaben Club to wind down Oktoberfest events.

Carney joined in Oktoberfest activities in Kitchener Friday, tapping a keg with Oktoberfest president Darryl Fletcher, better known as ChefD, and raising a stein with patrons.

Oktoberfest wraps up Saturday for another year, though the Hans Haus pop up shop remained open for the day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., to pick up festival swag at Carl Zehr Square.

Festhalls at Alpine, Concordia, Schwaben, Transylvania, and Hubertushaus clubs have their final nights on Saturday, though Hubertushaus is open on Sunday as well.
