Families of University of Idaho Murder victims Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves place ashes in memorial urns in Coeur d’Alene

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The families of University of Idaho students Madison “Maddie” Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves have placed the girls’ ashes into memorial urns.

According to a social media post shared by the Goncalves family, both families met at a Coeur d’Alene cremation center to complete the process. The families said the urns will be kept in both homes, symbolizing the close bond the two friends shared growing up.

“The girls will never be apart, and they will forever be at their two homes, just like they were growing up,” the post said.

The Goncalves family expressed gratitude to Coeur d’Alene Cremation and Funeral, saying staff were kind, patient and professional throughout the process.
