A man in eastern China who won a Rs 11.6 crore lottery prize has drawn widespread criticism after spending large sums on female live-streamers while giving nothing to his wife, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported.

The man’s wife, identified only by her surname Yuan, told Henan TV that she felt “betrayed” after discovering that her husband had spent much of his winnings on gambling and online hosts. The couple, from Dezhou in Shandong province, married in 2016.

According to Yuan, her husband won the lottery on December 17 last year, taking home an after-tax amount of Rs 9.4 crore (8.14 million yuan). “At first, I was as happy as he was,” she said.
