Following a rash of violent incidents in Thunder Bay within the last several weeks, including two homicides, an attack on a senior, and a school threat, the city police service wants to reassure the public that keeping the community safe is its number one priority.
"The emphasis we put on these investigations is huge, so I think that's a good thing for the people to understand," said Thunder Bay Police Service Chief Darcy Fleury during a media conference earlier this week.
The media conference was held on Wednesday to provide updates on investigations in recent weeks.
These probes include the Sept. 30 homicide on Dawson Road where 35-year-old Justin Coaster was pronounced deceased in hospital after being found with injuries near a hotel in the area.
