Niagara Regional Police emergency task unit (ETU) officers have arrested five Hamilton residents in connection with a Sept. 24 shooting on South Service Road in Grimsby.

On Friday, police said the ETU attended a Clyde Street address in Hamilton with a search warrant and seized a shotgun, a loaded 9-mm handgun, an MP5 automatic gun, a loaded extended magazine, two ounces of fentanyl, one ounce of suspected crack cocaine and $1,850 in Canadian currency.

Facing multiple drug, weapons and other charges are: 25-year-old Jawad Rabbani; 31-year-old Shamaree Salmon; 27-year-old Samantha McPhee; 28-year-old Hannah Baillie; and 20-year-old Shakem Keane-Dawes.
